Fall 2009 Horse Trail Ride October 2-4

Start making plans to attend the Fall 2009 Trail Ride in Knott County, Kentucky! The ride will be begin on Friday, October 2 and last through Sunday, October 4. This year's ride will be bigger and better than ever! Due to the number of riders at last year's trail rides we have moved our campsite to a larger site on around the mountain about three miles. Signs will mark the road to get you to the new campsite. The new site is significantly larger and located right in the middle of the three trails you may have rode in the past. This year we have added new trails to the ride and increased the number of concession booths so we can serve more people. There will also be wagon rides and ribbons and prizes!

As usual we will have local bands performing on Friday and Saturday nights for a couple of hours before the campers and visitors retreat to their campsites for tall tales 'n' horse tradin' or to prepare for the next day's ride.

Participants are encouraged to bring horses to ride or trade, even wagons and buggies are welcome.  Even people that don’t ride horses will find the event to be enjoyable and entertaining.

Law enforcement officers will once again be on site to help assure the Trail Ride continues to be a wholesome, family-oriented event to be enjoyed by all... so y'all Come and spend a little time relaxin' on Kentucky's “Front Porch”... Knott County.

The cost for the entire weekend is $10 per person, children 12 and under are admitted for free. For more information contact the Knott County Department of Tourism at 606-785-5881 or keep visiting us online for more information on the 2009 Trail Rides as well as other trails being developed in Knott County.
